Job Title: Teacher / Subject Teacher

Location: Benin (Airport Road), Edo

Job Summary

• A teacher is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering lessons to students in order to promote learning, intellectual growth, and character development.
• The teacher creates a positive and disciplined classroom environment that supports effective teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities
Lesson Planning:

• Prepare lesson plans and scheme of work according to the school curriculum.
• Ensure lessons are well structured and engaging.
• Use appropriate teaching materials and instructional aids.

Classroom Teaching:

• Deliver lessons clearly and effectively.
• Use different teaching methodologies to help students understand the subject.
• Encourage student participation and discussion.

Classroom Management:

• Maintain discipline and order in the classroom.
• Apply appropriate reward and punishment methods to manage student behaviour.
• Create a safe and supportive learning environment.

Student Assessment:

• Conduct tests, assignments, and examinations.
• Mark and record students’ results.
• Provide feedback to help students improve.

Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate school registers and attendance records.
• Keep records of continuous assessment and student progress.

Student Guidance:

• Support students academically and emotionally.
• Identify students with learning difficulties and assist them.

Professional Conduct:

• Follow teaching ethics and school policies.
• Dress and behave professionally.
• Maintain respect for students, parents, and colleagues.

Communication

• Communicate regularly with school management and parents.
• Attend staff meetings and school activities.

Work Environment

• Teachers work in classrooms, schools, and educational institutions, interacting with students, school administrators, and parents.

Required Qualifications

• NCE, B.Ed, B.Sc + PGDE or equivalent.
• Teaching experience (preferred).
• Knowledge of classroom management.
• Good communication skills.
• Passion for teaching.

N50,000 - N100,000 / month.
