Job Title: Assistant Plant Manager – Power Generation

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced Assistant Plant Manager – Power Generation to oversee the reliable and efficient operation of captive power plants.
  • The role involves managing power generation assets, ensuring operational reliability, optimizing fuel consumption, and leading a technical team to maintain uninterrupted power supply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of gas engines, diesel generators, and hybrid power systems.
  • Ensure 24/7 reliable power supply meeting quality parameters (voltage, frequency, harmonics).
  • Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Monitor engine performance, fuel efficiency, and generation costs.
  • Manage gas supply, metering, and fuel consumption optimization.
  • Coordinate with electrical distribution teams and support tenants for power requirements and fault resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Support power plant expansion projects, upgrades, and renewable energy integration.
  • Lead and mentor plant operators and technicians.
  • Prepare operational reports and track KPIs such as plant load factor, outage rates, and fuel consumption.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Power Engineering.

Experience

  • 8–10 years of experience in power generation operations.
  • Minimum 1–2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Hands-on experience with gas engines and off-grid power plants (Jenbacher engines preferred).
  • Experience in industrial parks, utilities, free zones, or IPPs is an advantage.
