They are recruiting an experienced candidate to oversee and coordinate field activities across its dredging project sites in the capacity below:

Description

  • We are seeking an experienced Surveyor / Dredging Quantity Measurement Officer to support its ongoing large-scale dredging projects in Port Harcourt.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting hydrographic surveys, measuring dredged volumes, and providing accurate survey data to support operational and commercial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • To conduct pre-dredging and post-dredging hydrographic surveys to determine seabed profiles and dredging progress
  • To operate GPS, echo sounders, and other hydrographic survey equipment for accurate bathymetric data collection
  • To compute and report dredged material volumes (m³) using appropriate survey software and methodologies
  • To prepare survey drawings, charts, and technical reports for project documentation and operational review
  • To support dredging operations with accurate positioning and depth measurements
  • To verify dredging quantities and assist with progress measurement and operational reconciliation
  • To maintain and calibrate survey equipment to ensure reliability and accuracy
  • To collaborate with project engineers and field teams to support efficient dredging operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years’ hydrographic surveying experience, preferably within dredging or marine construction projects
  • Strong experience with bathymetric surveys, GPS positioning systems, and echo sounding equipment
  • Proficiency in survey data processing and volume calculation techniques
  • Ability to interpret survey data and generate accurate technical reports
  • Good understanding of marine surveying standards and dredging operations
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and commitment to data accuracy.
