Job Title: Construction Project Manager

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Summary

  • The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects from pre-construction through completion.
  • The role requires a professional with strong project management discipline, construction expertise, leadership ability, and stakeholder management capability.
  • The ideal candidate will ensure that Novarick’s developments are delivered efficiently, safely, and profitably while maintaining strong relationships with contractors, consultants, regulators, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution:

  • Lead planning and execution of construction projects from design coordination through completion
  • Develop project schedules, timelines, and execution strategies
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers
  • Monitor project milestones and resolve delays

Construction Management:

  • Oversee daily construction activities across project sites
  • Ensure adherence to construction drawings and specifications
  • Manage contractors, subcontractors, and site supervisors
  • Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews

Budget & Cost Control:

  • Monitor project budgets and cost performance
  • Track cost variations and manage financial risks
  • Review contractor claims and payment applications
  • Coordinate with finance for project cost reporting

Stakeholder Management:

  • Serve as liaison between management, contractors, consultants, and regulators
  • Provide regular project updates to leadership
  • Coordinate external consultants including architects, engineers, and quantity surveyors

Compliance & Regulatory Management:

  • Ensure compliance with building regulations and safety standards
  • Coordinate regulatory approvals
  • Implement strong health and safety protocols

Risk Management:

  • Identify project risks and mitigation strategies
  • Resolve design conflicts, contractor disputes, and supply issues
  • Maintain proper documentation and governance

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement quality control procedures
  • Ensure work meets design and engineering standards
  • Coordinate project snagging and handover processes

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Project Delivery:

  • Percentage of projects delivered on schedule
  • Percentage delivered within approved budget

Construction Quality:

  • Number of defects or rework incidents
  • Quality inspection performance scores

Cost Efficiency:

  • Cost variance vs approved project budgets
  • Contractor payment and cost management efficiency

Stakeholder Satisfaction:

  • Management and internal team feedback
  • Consultant and contractor coordination effectiveness

Compliance & Safety:

  • Zero major safety incidents
  • Full regulatory compliance

Project Reporting:

  • Timeliness and accuracy of project reporting

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field
  • Minimum of 7+ years experience managing construction projects
  • Proven experience delivering residential or commercial real estate developments
  • Strong understanding of construction project management processes
  • Experience managing contractors, consultants and site teams
  • Strong understanding of construction budgeting and cost control

Preferred Certifications:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • PRINCE2
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
  • NSE membership or COREN registration
