Job Summary
- We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced Accountant to manage the financial operations of Visco Group of Companies Limited.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports, maintaining accurate records, managing budgets, monitoring expenses, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- This role requires strong attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ledgers, and journals.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable regularly.
- Track daily cash flow, monitor spending, and report variances.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and monitoring budget performance.
- Implement cost-control measures and provide financial insights for decision-making.
- Review and verify all financial transactions, invoices, and expense reports.
Payroll & Compliance:
- Oversee payroll preparation and ensure accurate salary payments.
- Ensure statutory deductions (PAYE, pension, NHF, etc.) are calculated and remitted on time.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, FIRS, state regulations, and internal financial policies.
Audit & Internal Controls:
- Prepare financial documents for internal and external audits.
- Recommend and implement improvements to internal control systems.
- Maintain proper documentation, receipts, and evidence for all financial transactions.
Inventory & Asset Management:
- Support inventory reconciliation in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Maintain asset registers and track depreciation schedules.
Financial Advisory & Support:
- Provide management with timely financial insights to support business decisions.
- Advise on financial risks, investment opportunities, and cash-flow strategies.
- Liaise with banks, auditors, vendors, and regulatory bodies when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
- 2 - 3 years proven experiencein an accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and Nigerian tax laws.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Zoho Books) and MS Excel.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Salary
N150,000 monthly (Negotiable).
