Job Summary
- The Kiln Operator supports the safe and efficient operation of the rotary kiln in the cement production process.
- The role involves monitoring kiln operating parameters, maintaining stable operating conditions, and ensuring optimal clinker production while complying with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- The Kiln Operator collaborates closely with the Shift Coordinator, production engineers, and maintenance teams to ensure continuous kiln operation and contribute to achieving production targets.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Functional:
- Assist in implementing the plant’s approved production plan.
- Monitor kiln operating parameters including temperature profile, feed rate, and fuel consumption.
- Ensure stable kiln operation and prevent process disturbances.
- Record process data and maintain accurate operational logs.
- Conduct routine inspections of kiln equipment and report abnormalities.
- Support preventive maintenance activities and assist maintenance teams during shutdowns.
- Coordinate with CCR operators to maintain optimal kiln performance.
- Monitor clinker quality and report any deviation from production standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot operational issues in coordination with supervisors and engineers.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Participate in training programs and performance evaluations organized by the company.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Head of Department in line with production objectives.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Bac+3/4) in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in cement manufacturing or industrial production environment.
- Experience in rotary kiln operations is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of cement production processes.
- Understanding of rotary kiln operation principles.
- Ability to interpret process data and adjust operating parameters.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment inspection and maintenance support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
