Bluegrey Capital Limited is a private investment company with strategic shareholdings in several portfolio companies, engaging in financial services.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant / Treasurer

Location: Abuja (FCT) 
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilties
Financial Accounting & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with IFRS and company policies.
  • Prepare timely financial statements, management reports, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure proper coding, posting, and approval of financial transactions.
  • Facilitate annual audits and implement audit recommendations.

Treasury & Liquidity Management:

  • Monitor daily cash flow and forecast liquidity needs to ensure adequate funds.
  • Manage banking relationships and optimize fund allocation across accounts.
  • Prepare daily cash position reports and weekly cash forecasts.
  • Safeguard cash handling, transfers, and treasury instruments.
  • Implement controls to prevent fraud, cash leakage, or misuse. 

Budgeting & Financial Planning:

  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial projections.
  • Track budget performance, analyse variances, and provide actionable insights.
  • Offer periodic financial recommendations to support management

Accounts Payable & Receivable Management:

  • Process vendor invoices, employee claims, and reimbursements accurately.
  • Ensure timely settlement of payables and effective receivables collection.
  • Maintain reconciliation schedules for supplier and customer accounts.

Compliance, Audit & Control:

  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, statutory requirements, and audit standards.
  • Prepare and file regulatory submissions (taxes, pension, NHF, etc.) on time.
  • Maintain accurate records for statutory deductions and payments.

Financial Systems & Operational Efficiency:

  • Manage accounting/ERP systems to ensure accuracy and transparency.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance controls and reporting efficiency.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives for finance and treasury functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA) in view or fully qualified.
  • This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively to drive financial excellence and compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, or Tally.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
