We are recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Agric Business Manager

Location:
Ibadan, Oyo

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands HerVest’s customer base and ensures its strong presence. 
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs. 
  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team. Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
  • Decide the type, quality, and quantity of the crops to be planted. 
  • Prepare plans for the mode of harvest and harvesting schedules and collaborate with the farm operators for carrying out these activities. 
  • Budget the farm management and accomplish the farm activities within the planned budget.
  • Hire employees for minor duties such as managing work schedules, daily wages, feeding livestock/tending to crop and managing the harvest.
  • Arrange for regular maintenance of field equipment, machinery, and farm buildings.
  • Work with procurement and finance department to purchase farm supplies like agrochemicals and seeds, and feed for livestock.
  • Manage sales and marketing of farm products like crops, livestock, etc. 
  • Meet deadlines for producing yield and facilitate sending the yield to market for sales. 
  • Monitor quality and quantity of crops, livestock, etc. 
  • Update knowledge on plant and animal diseases and take necessary measures for treating same. 
  • Preserve environmental biodiversity and undertake protection activities if need be. 
  • Keep track of the health and safety of farmworkers and other staff.
  • Submit reports as and when due.

  • He/she also performs other duties as delegated by the Line Manager.
