Job Title: School Auditor / Accountant

Location: Owerri, Imo

Job Summary

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy School Auditor / Accountant to manage and oversee the financial operations of our institution.
• The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain proper records, and promote transparency and accountability in all financial matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and statements
• Monitor school income and expenditures, including fees and salaries
• Conduct regular audits of financial transactions and ensure compliance with financial policies
• Manage payroll and ensure timely payment of staff salaries
• Track outstanding school fees and follow up where necessary
• Prepare budgets and provide financial forecasts
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards
• Work closely with school management to support financial decision-making
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience as an accountant, auditor, or similar role (preferably in a school)
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Integrity and ability to handle confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage
• Experience working in an educational institution.
