Job Title: Laboratory Field Technician (Contract)
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Engagement Type: Short-Term Field Assignment / Contract
Role Overview
- Carogas is seeking a qualified Laboratory Field Technician to support a field assignment in Port Harcourt.
- The role involves collecting representative crude oil samples directly from the wellhead to support laboratory testing for crude treatment chemical evaluation.
- The successful candidate will ensure that samples are collected, handled, and documented in accordance with standard oil and gas sampling practices so that the integrity of the sample is preserved for laboratory analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect crude oil emulsion samples from the wellhead or flowline at the designated wellsite.
- Ensure representative sampling procedures are followed to maintain sample integrity.
- Use appropriate sampling containers, labeling, and preservation methods.
- Maintain proper chain-of-custody documentation and sampling records.
- Ensure samples are properly packaged and prepared for transport to the designated laboratory.
- Comply with wellsite safety procedures and operational protocols during sampling activities.
- Coordinate with the Carogas technical team and wellsite personnel to execute the sampling program.
Requirements
- Experience in oil field sampling, production chemistry, or laboratory field operations.
- Prior experience collecting crude oil, produced fluid, or wellhead samples in upstream oil and gas operations.
- Familiarity with standard crude oil sampling procedures and chain-of-custody documentation.
- Understanding of wellsite safety requirements and field operations.
- Based in Port Harcourt or able to mobilize quickly to the wellsite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in production chemistry, petroleum engineering, or laboratory technology.
- Previous work with oilfield service companies, inspection companies, or laboratories.
