Job Title: Science Laboratory Technician

Location: Warri, Delta
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Science Laboratory Technician with a strong background in chemistry techniques to support laboratory operations within our college.
  • The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth running of practical sessions, maintain laboratory standards, and assist students during experiments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare chemical reagents and solutions for laboratory practicals
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the laboratory at all times
  • Assist students and lecturers during practical sessions
  • Set up and dismantle laboratory equipment for experiments
  • Ensure proper storage and labeling of chemicals and laboratory materials
  • Monitor and manage laboratory inventory, including requesting supplies when needed
  • Adhere strictly to laboratory health and safety regulations
  • Dispose of chemical waste in line with approved procedures
  • Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Science Laboratory Technology
  • Must be registered and licensed with the Institute of Science Laboratory Technology of Nigeria
  • Valid practicing license is required
  • Proven experience working in a laboratory setting (academic or industrial)
  • Strong knowledge of chemistry techniques and laboratory procedures
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in an educational institution
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety regulations and chemical handling protocols.
