Job Title: Business Development Officer

Job Summary

  • They are seeking a results-driven and experienced Business Development Officer to drive business growth, expand the customer base, and strengthen client relationships.
  • The Business Development Officer will be responsible for driving revenue growth by mobilizing deposits, generating quality loan opportunities, and expanding the bank’s customer base.
  • The ideal candidate must be an experienced marketer with a proven ability to make immediate impact in both deposit mobilization and loan portfolio development.

Responsibilities

  • Drive deposit mobilization and grow the bank’s customer base through strategic marketing efforts
  • Source and generate quality loan opportunities in line with the bank’s credit policies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
  • Identify market opportunities and develop strategies to increase revenue
  • Promote the bank’s products and services to individuals, SMEs, and corporate clients
  • Conduct client visits, presentations, and follow-ups to close business deals
  • Monitor loan performance and ensure timely repayment from clients
  • Collaborate with credit and risk teams to ensure proper loan documentation and approval
  • Achieve set sales targets for both deposits and loans
  • Provide regular reports on business development activities and performance

Requirements

  • First Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related field
  • 3–5 years’ experience in business development or marketing within a microfinance or banking environment
  • Proven track record in deposit mobilization and loan generation
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Good understanding of financial products and credit processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Result-driven with ability to meet and exceed targets.
