Job Title: Ambulance Driver

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a responsible and skilled Ambulance Driver to transport patients safely and efficiently to and from medical facilities.
  • The successful candidate will ensure timely emergency response while maintaining patient comfort and adhering to road safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive ambulances safely and responsibly to transport patients, medical staff, or equipment.
  • Respond promptly to emergency calls and hospital requests.
  • Ensure that patients are transported in a safe, comfortable, and timely manner.
  • Assist paramedics or healthcare staff in loading and unloading patients when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of the ambulance.
  • Perform routine checks on the vehicle, including fuel, oil, brakes, tires, and emergency equipment.
  • Keep accurate records of trips, fuel consumption, and ambulance maintenance.
  • Follow traffic laws, hospital protocols, and safety regulations at all times.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly to the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with professional/heavy vehicle endorsement.
  • Minimum of SSCE or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience driving ambulances or similar vehicles is preferred.
  • Knowledge of traffic rules, emergency response routes, and road safety.
  • Physically fit and able to assist with patient loading if needed.
  • Responsible, reliable, and punctual.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First Aid or Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
  • Experience working in a hospital or emergency medical environment.
