We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head, Internal Audit

Location: Calabar, Cross River 
Employment Type: Full Time
Reports to: Executive Management / Finance Director

Main Function

• The Head of Internal Audit is responsible for leading the internal audit function, ensuring effective risk management, strong internal controls, and compliance with financial and operational policies.
• The role provides independent assurance to management on the effectiveness of governance and control processes.

Role Responsibilities

• Develop and implement internal audit strategies and plans.
• Lead and supervise internal audit activities across the organization.
• Review financial and operational processes to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Identify risks, control gaps, and areas of potential fraud.
• Oversee audit investigations and ensure proper documentation of findings.
• Prepare and present audit reports to senior management.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and corrective actions.
• Ensure confidentiality and integrity of audit processes.

Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Certifications:

• HND/BSc in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA) is required.

Experience:

• Minimum of 6–10 years experience in auditing, accounting, or finance.
• At least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong experience in internal controls, risk management, and compliance.
