Job Summary
- J.A.K. Energy Group is seeking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting strategic financial decisions. Strong expertise in trade finance and professional accounting certification are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate financial records of all transactions
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Monitor and report on financial performance.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Manage invoicing, payments, and collections
- Ensure timely settlement of obligations and follow-up on receivables.
Bank Reconciliation & Cash Management:
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies
- Monitor cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity.
Trade Finance Operations:
- Handle trade finance instruments such as Letters of Credit (LC), bank guarantees, and bills for collection
- Process import and export transactions in line with agreed trade terms.
Trade Documentation & Compliance:
- Review and verify trade documents (invoices, bill of lading, packing list, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and internal policies.
Liaison with Banks & Financial Institutions:
- Coordinate with banks on trade finance facilities and transactions
- Follow up on approvals, payments, and documentation.
Foreign Transactions & Exchange Monitoring:
- Manage foreign currency transactions
- Monitor exchange rate impacts and ensure proper recording.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis:
- Support budgeting and financial planning processes
- Provide financial insights and analysis for decision-making.
Risk Management & Internal Controls:
- Identify financial and trade-related risks
- Implement controls to minimize exposure and ensure compliance.
Audit & Regulatory Compliance:
- Prepare documentation for audits
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with procurement, logistics, and operations teams
- Align financial records with supply chain and trade activities.
Requirements
- Professional certification (ICAN is mandatory)
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of trade finance operations
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level of integrity and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
