The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) is a multilateral development bank (MDB) which funds its projects and other developmental activities using Islamic finance. Hence, the name “Islamic”. Founded in 1975, the IsDB is headquartered in Jeddah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The purpose of the Bank is to foster economic development and social progress of its member countries.

The Bank is now in the process of opening Country Gateway Offices (CGOs) in five major member countries namely; Turkey, Indonesia, Nigeria, Bangladesh and Egypt. The core functions of CGOs may be summarized as strategizing, project preparation, implementation facilitation and relations building. Turkey and Indonesia CGOs are fully operational, to be followed by Nigeria. The Country Gateway Office (CGO) for Nigeria is located in the 4th Floor of Mukiar El Yakub Place at Plot 1129 along Zakari Maimalari Street, Abuja Central Business District.

Job Title: Project Procurement Analyst

Principal Responsibilities
  • This critical and across-the-board position requires a professional having excellent inter-personal skills coupled with deep knowledge of country and international procurement systems.
  • The incumbent will provide operational and analytical support on all procurement matters and support implementation of procurement arrangements under the IsDB-financed operations.
  • S(he) will work as a technical staff receiving all functional assignments and technical guidance on procurement matters/issues from the Manager, Procurement & Policy Division In the Operations Policy & Services Department (OPSD) at the Headquarters.
Required Education & Experience
  • Minimum of B.Sc, but preferably MSc in Engineering, Law, Business Administration from a reputable Institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years cognate experience in Project Procurement (project management and technical analysis).
  • Provide procurement support services to peers and colleagues, divisions and departments.
  • Proven analytical and evaluative skills, including the ability to independently provide well researched analyses of key procurement issues and problems.
  • Ability to carry out necessary analysis of procurement issues to support decision making by senior procurement staff
  • Demonstrable Project management and operations experience
  • Excellent presentation, analytical, negotiation and leadership skills
  • Strong knowledge of French and Arabic languages would be an added advantage.
