We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Economist

Locations: Lekki / Victoria Island (VI), Lagos
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1 Hour Break)

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially aware Economist to drive data-backed decision-making across the business.
  • The ideal candidate will play a critical role in pricing optimization, sales performance analysis, and profitability improvement within a retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and consumer behavior to guide business strategy
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies to improve sales and profit margins
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance and provide actionable insights
  • Conduct cost and margin analysis across product categories
  • Build sales forecasts and demand planning models
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue, reduce costs, and improve efficiency
  • Prepare business performance reports and dashboards for management
  • Support budgeting, financial planning, and strategic decision-making
  • Collaborate with operations and store teams to improve product performance and turnover.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics
  • Only candidates who studied Economics will be considered
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, financial modeling)
  • Experience with data analysis tools or ERP systems is an advantage
  • Good understanding of retail business operations and financial metrics
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear business insights
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
