Position Overview
- The Account Officer is responsible for managing daily financial operations, ensuring accurate record‑keeping, and supporting the preparation of financial reports.
- This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet tools.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Record daily financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Ensure proper documentation and secure filing of financial documents.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Process vendor invoices and prepare payment schedules.
- Manage customer invoicing and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Reconcile supplier and customer accounts regularly.
Bank & Cash Management:
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
- Monitor daily cash balances and update cashbooks.
- Manage petty cash disbursement and reporting.
Financial Reporting:
- Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Support budget preparation and expenditure tracking.
- Provide timely financial data for management decision‑making.
Compliance & Internal Controls:
- Ensure strict adherence to accounting policies and internal control procedures.
- Support both internal and external audit processes.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks (posting transactions, reconciliation, reporting).
- Familiarity with general accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
