Job Title: Store In Charge Officer
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate stock levels of raw materials (PET preforms, caps, labels, chemicals, etc.).
- Monitor minimum, maximum, and reorder levels.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly physical stock verification.
- Prevent stock shortages and overstocking.
- Verify incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery challans.
- Ensure quality and quantity checks before acceptance.
- Coordinate with QA/QC department for material approval.
- Maintain GRN (Goods Receipt Note) records.
- Issue materials to production as per approved requisition.
- Maintain FIFO/FEFO system (especially for chemicals and packaging materials).
- Track batch numbers for traceability.
- Maintain ERP/manual inventory records.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly stock reports.
- Reconcile physical stock with system stock.
- Maintain proper filing of invoices, GRNs, and stock registers.
- Ensure proper storage conditions (cleanliness, ventilation, safety).
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ensure safe handling of chemicals and consumables.
- Prevent pilferage and damage.
- Coordinate with Purchase, Production, QA, and Accounts departments.
- Support audits (internal, external, food safety audits).
- Assist management in stock planning and forecasting.
Requirements
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce / business administration / supply chain or
- Diploma in Store Management / Inventory Management.
Experience:
- 6–8 years of experience in store/inventory management.
- Preferably in bottled drinking water / FMCG / food processing industry.
- Experience in handling packaging materials and plant consumables.
Certifications:
- Certification in Inventory Management / Supply Chain Management.
- Knowledge of ISO 22000 / FSSC / Food Safety standards.
- Basic computer certification.
Selection Criteria:
- Experience in store and inventory management within FMCG, beverage, or drinking water plants.
- Should have hands-on experience in managing raw materials, packaging materials, chemicals, and plant consumables.
- Should demonstrate strong knowledge of inventory control systems including FIFO/FEFO practices.
- Should possess working knowledge of ERP systems and computerized inventory management software.
- Should be capable of maintaining accurate stock records, reconciliation, and physical verification processes.
- Should have practical experience in handling Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), material issuance, and documentation control.
- Should demonstrate knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and material storage compliance standards.
- Should have experience in coordinating with Purchase, Production, QA, and Accounts departments.
- Should be capable of minimizing stock discrepancies, pilferage, and material wastage.
- Should exhibit strong integrity, accountability, and adherence to audit and documentation requirements.
