We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Veterinary Doctor (Poultry Production)
Location: Ogere, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the overall health and welfare of poultry flocks
- Diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases in poultry
- Develop and implement effective vaccination and medication programs
- Enforce strict biosecurity protocols to prevent disease outbreaks
- Conduct routine farm inspections and comprehensive health assessments
- Provide expert guidance on poultry nutrition, feeding programs, and flock management
- Supervise and train farm staff on animal health, welfare practices, and biosecurity protocols
- Manage and coordinate a large workforce (200+ poultry production staff), ensuring effective supervision and productivity
- Investigate and manage disease outbreaks, including proper reporting and containment measures
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date veterinary and production records
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and industry standards
- Collaborate with farm management to improve productivity and reduce mortality rates
- Monitor drug usage and ensure adherence to prescribed withdrawal periods
- Utilize data management systems to track performance, analyze trends, and support decision-making.
