We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accounts / Audit Officer

Location: Utako, Abuja (FCT) 
Employment Type: Full-time

Description

  • The Account / Audit Officer is responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and strengthening internal control and audit processes within organization.
  • The role involves overseeing financial transactions, conducting internal audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and company policies.
  • The role ensures accuracy, timeliness, and integrity in financial reporting while supporting the organization in making informed financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, examine, and maintain accurate financial records, statements, and reports.
  • Post and reconcile journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Manage payroll processing and ensure timely payment of salaries and statutory deductions (e.g., tax, pensions, NHF).
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and budgets.
  • Manage bank reconciliations, cash flows monitoring, and general ledger activities.
  • Review financial transactions, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports, and ensuring compliance with established controls and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws, financial regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support management decision-making.
  • Track company expenses, prepare cost analyses, and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Develop and strengthen internal control systems to mitigate financial risks
  • Work closely with procurement, HR, and operations teams to align financial procedures.

Requirements

  • Candidate must reside in Abuja, Preferably around Utako.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven work experience as an Accountant or in a similar role for at least a year.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, audit processes and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, or ERP systems) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
