Job Title: Lead Project Engineer
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Summary
- To lead and coordinate the planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out of Fabric Maintenance projects, ensuring safe, timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery in alignment with company standards and business objectives.
- The incumbent will work closely with contractors, front-end team, planning/scheduling engineers, coordinators and HSE teams to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of fabric maintenance works.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion adherence to set HSE targets for own coverage area on AAI Fabric Programs.
- Oversee the development of front-end activities, planning, detailed execution plans, schedules, and resource plans.
- Lead end-to-end execution of AAI Fabric Maintenance Projects (corrosion control intervention, insulation system rejuvenation, in-house assurance and materials availability).
- Support the planning of SIMOPS to ensure minimal disruptions in execution via effective interfacing with multi-discipline teams (Instrumentation, Mechanical, etc.).
- Ensure alignment with maintenance windows (integrated shutdown plan - ISDP and plant operational windows) for detailed planning activities and resources mobilization.
- Oversee the review of maintenance execution documentation and deliverables in line with AMS guidelines to ensure compliance with Company specifications, OEM requirements and international standards (e.g., API, ASME, ISO, NACE/FROSIO) whilst managing interfaces that provide technical support.
- Ensure adherence to approved appropriation and annual budget provision whilst driving feasible initiatives within projects that enhance cost leadership.
- Ensure project health status by maintaining desired targets on HSE, Schedule, Quality, and Cost management.
- Lead progress review meetings and report performance metrics.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline.
- 5 - 7 years’ experience in oil & gas operations.
- At least 5 years in project management role.
- Proficiency in project scheduling (Primavera/MS Project), cost estimation & budget control.
- Strong knowledge in the use of computerized maintenance management system - SAP
- Strong leadership & decision-making skills.
- Stakeholder engagement skills, high accountability & ownership.
