Job Title: Shift Engineer 1
Location: Dangote Cement I Coast
Job Summary
- Manage and supervise the effective execution of all production activities during the assigned shift to ensure seamless, safe, and efficient operations within the Production Department.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in the implementation of DCP’s production plan.
- Ensure cement and clinker production targets are achieved during the assigned shift.
- Coordinate all production staff to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
- Monitor process control units from clinker silo extraction to cement silo filling at Dangote Cement Plants.
- Ensure raw materials (clay, laterite, and limestone) are properly crushed to meet predefined quality targets.
- Ensure all production equipment is operated in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
- Supervise casual staff to ensure conveyor belts are clean and free from blockages.
- Ensure machine operators wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during operations.
- Prepare detailed shift reports for the attention of the Section Head, Crushing Operations.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Section Head, Crushing Operations.
Key Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Engineer’s degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification in a technical discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience.
Skills & Competencies:
- Working knowledge of the cement production process.
- Good understanding of product quality parameters and quality control.
- Strong knowledge of crushing operations, equipment, and their functions.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership abilities.
- High attention to detail.
