The Foundation for Climate Action and Sustainable Development (F-CASD) is a registered non-profit organization in Nigeria, dedicated to mitigating the impacts of climate change through innovative and multidisciplinary approaches. Leveraging expertise in advocacy, data science, geographic information systems, research, monitoring and evaluation, we strive to promote sustainable development and climate resilience. Our strategic objectives are centered on promoting sustainable innovations that integrate environmental, social, and economic dimensions, thereby fostering scalable and replicable sustainable development practices. We also provide capacity-building programs and training initiatives to enhance the skills and knowledge of local stakeholders, policymakers, and researchers, enabling them to effectively address climate change and implement sustainable solutions.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Project Officer

Brief Role Description

  • The Project Officer will be responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and monitoring of F-CASD’s projects. This role ensures that initiatives are delivered effectively, aligned with the foundation’s mission, and contribute to advancing climate action and sustainable development. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, planning, and implementation of climate action and sustainable development projects.
  • Coordinate project activities and ensure effective communication among team members, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, track deliverables, and prepare timely reports for management and donors.
  • Support data collection, documentation, and analysis to measure project outcomes and impact.
  • Maintain accurate project records, including budgets, work plans, and activity reports.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and training sessions to strengthen project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements, organizational policies, and national regulations.
  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives and dissemination of best practices.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends and innovations in climate action and sustainable development.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Development Studies, Project Management, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in project management or coordination, preferably within NGOs or development organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
