Job Title: Backend Engineer

Location: Eti-Osa, Lagos

About the Role

• At Jedayah AI, we are building AI-powered solutions that solve real business problems.
• We are looking for a Backend Engineer who will work closely with our AI Engineer to turn models into reliable, scalable, production-ready systems.
• This is a high-impact role where you will own the backend architecture powering our AI products - from APIs to deployment pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems for AI-powered applications.
• Develop and manage APIs to serve machine learning models.
• Collaborate closely with AI Engineers to deploy and optimize models in production.
• Build and manage data pipelines for ingestion, processing, and storage.
• Ensure performance, reliability, and security of backend services.
• Integrate third-party tools, client systems, and external APIs.
• Monitor, debug, and improve system performance and uptime.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Node.js, or similar backend languages.
• Experience building RESTful APIs (FastAPI, Flask, Express, etc.).
• Solid understanding of databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Familiarity with Docker and containerization.
• Understanding of asynchronous processing / queues (Celery, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Experience with system design and scalable architecture.
