Job Summary

  • The Payroll & Compensation Specialist will be responsible for managing accurate payroll processing while supporting the design and administration of compensation and benefits programs
  • This role requires strong Excel expertise, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of payroll and reward practices within a fast-paced fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and on time using Excel and payroll systems
  • Maintain and update payroll data including salaries, bonuses, deductions, and allowances
  • Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and analysis using advanced Excel functions
  • Support the implementation and administration of compensation structures and salary reviews
  • Assist in salary benchmarking and compensation analysis
  • Manage employee benefits administration (HMO, pension, bonuses, allowances, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (PAYE, pensions, NHF, NSITF, etc.)
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to validate employee data and changes
  • Handle payroll and compensation-related queries and resolve discrepancies
  • Support audits by providing payroll and compensation data
  • Generate insights and reports to support decision-making
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee data.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field
  • 4–7years of experience in payroll and/or compensation & benefits
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis)
  • Experience with payroll software or HRIS systems
  • Good understanding of Nigerian payroll regulations and statutory deductions
  • Knowledge of compensation structures and benefits administration
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving ability.
