Job Summary
- The Payroll & Compensation Specialist will be responsible for managing accurate payroll processing while supporting the design and administration of compensation and benefits programs
- This role requires strong Excel expertise, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of payroll and reward practices within a fast-paced fintech environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process monthly payroll accurately and on time using Excel and payroll systems
- Maintain and update payroll data including salaries, bonuses, deductions, and allowances
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and analysis using advanced Excel functions
- Support the implementation and administration of compensation structures and salary reviews
- Assist in salary benchmarking and compensation analysis
- Manage employee benefits administration (HMO, pension, bonuses, allowances, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (PAYE, pensions, NHF, NSITF, etc.)
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to validate employee data and changes
- Handle payroll and compensation-related queries and resolve discrepancies
- Support audits by providing payroll and compensation data
- Generate insights and reports to support decision-making
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee data.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field
- 4–7years of experience in payroll and/or compensation & benefits
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis)
- Experience with payroll software or HRIS systems
- Good understanding of Nigerian payroll regulations and statutory deductions
- Knowledge of compensation structures and benefits administration
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-solving ability.
