Job Title: Head, Business Development – EPC Business

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Objective

  • Responsible forcreating and executing strategies to drive company growth, identify new opportunities, and increase revenue.
  • Oversee the business development function, lead the team, and are critical in building and maintaining key partnerships, analyzing market trends, and closing deals.
  • This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, market analysis, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Strategic

  • Ownership of Business Development initiatives and achievement of setRevenuetargets of the company
  • Ownership of the customers/clients’ interface with the company’s services making sure that all functions of the organization are aligned to meet its strategic commercial objectives
  • With the COO,representing the company before Financial, Government and Technical Regulatory Forces, defending company's objectives and decisions.
  • Provideindustry trends, opportunities for expansion and projection of future company growth, not limited to local opportunities but with strongawareness ofGlobal perspectives.
  • Developwith a customer - centricapproach mind-set,polices and standards that are aimed at ensuring optimal utilization of the company/departmental resources for the overall achievement of the company's set objectives; long-term and periodic.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all tenders and contractual commitments of the company.

Operational:
New Business Development:

  • Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.
  • Cold-call as appropriate within your market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities. * Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
  • Research and build relationships with new clients.
  • Set up meetings between client decision makers and company’s practice leaders/Principals.
  • Plan approaches and pitches. * Work with team to develop proposals that speak to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Participate in pricing the solution/service.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion. * Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
  • Present an image that mirrors that of the client.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical Preferably).
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MSc Engineering Management, Project Management or related field) is an added advantage.
  • 10–15+ years’ progressive experience in Business Development within EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) environments.
  • Proven track record of securing and managing large EPC contracts and leading multi-disciplinary bid teams.
  • Strong understanding of EPC project lifecycles, commercial models (LSTK, EPCM, Turnkey), tendering processes, and contract negotiation.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, APMP, or Engineering Registration (COREN/NSE for Nigeria) are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic partnerships, JV structures, and market expansion strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and financial analysis skills.
  • Solid knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and HSE compliance relevant to EPC operations.

Salary
N2,500,000 - N3,000,000 monthly.
