Job Title: 2D / 3D Animator (Game – Character & Visual Design)

Role Overview
- Seeking an animator to create high-quality character animations and visual assets for a mobile game, with strong capability in both art creation and technical implementation for Unity.
Core Responsibilities
Character Animation:
- Create fluid, high-quality character animations
- Produce:
- Idle, movement, and interaction animations
- Action/ability animations with clear visual feedback
- Ensure animations communicate timing, weight, and responsiveness
Asset Creation & Design:
- Design and produce character assets and animation-ready elements
- Prepare clean, well-structured files for animation pipelines
- Maintain visual consistency across characters and assets
Animation Implementation (Unity):
- Import, set up, and manage animations inside Unity
- Work with:
- Animator Controller and state machines
- Blend trees and transitions
- Ensure animations integrate cleanly with gameplay systems
Optimization:
- Ensure assets and animations are optimized for mobile performance
- Maintain efficient file sizes, rigs, and animation complexity
- Work within performance and memory constraints
Collaboration:
- Work closely with developers to ensure correct implementation
- Iterate quickly based on feedback and gameplay needs
Technical Requirements (Must-Have)
Qualification and Experience:
- Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 5 years experience.
Animation & Design Software:
- Strong proficiency in:
- Adobe Photoshop (asset creation, textures, sprite work)
- Adobe Illustrator (vector assets, clean scalable designs)
- Experience with at least one animation tool:
- Spine / DragonBones (2D skeletal animation)
- Blender / Maya (3D animation and rigging)
Unity Pipeline Knowledge:
- Experience exporting and integrating assets into Unity
- Familiarity with:
- Sprite sheets, atlases, and asset slicing
- Rigged animation workflows (2D or 3D)
- Unity Animator system (controllers, transitions)
Animation Fundamentals:
- Strong understanding of:
- Timing, spacing, weight, anticipation, follow-through
- Ability to create animations that feel responsive in gameplay
Technical Workflow:
- Ability to:
- Optimize assets for mobile (performance + memory)
- Organize files for clean handoff to developers
- Familiarity with version control workflows (basic Git usage is a plus)
Nice to Have:
- Experience with:
- Unity particle systems or basic VFX
- UI animation and transitions
- Mobile game development pipelines
Opportunity:
- Contract role with a clear path to full-time, with increasing ownership over animation quality and visual direction.
