Erkang Pharmaceuticals is a multinational manufacturer of pharmaceutical products starting up in Ilorin, Kwara State Nigeria. Erkang Pharmaceutical is one of the largest manufacturers of Large Volume Parenterals (Infusion) and other products in the world.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Excavator Operator

Location: Ilorin, Kwara 
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Machine Operation: Safely operate hydraulic excavators (including 360-degree units) for excavation, grading, trenching, and demolition.
• Site Preparation: Clear land, dig foundations for buildings, and excavate trenches for pipes or cables.
• Safety & Maintenance: Conduct pre-operational daily inspections (checking oil, fuel, fluid levels), perform basic repairs, and ensure the machine is in good working order to prevent malfunctions.
• Material Handling: Load, move, and lift heavy materials (dirt, rocks, debris) with precision.
• Site Plan Adherence: Read blueprints and survey markers to ensure digging occurs at the correct depth, slope, and location.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with ground crew, signalers, and site supervisors to maintain a safe, efficient workflow, often in restricted spaces.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: 3 - 4 years of experience in operating excavators or similar heavy machinery.
• Technical Skills: Proficient understanding of hydraulic equipment and basic maintenance.
• Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with GPS and laser-guided systems for precise excavation.
• Physical Ability: Good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to sit for extended periods.
• Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations (e.g., OSHA), including handling underground utilities.
