Job Description

• Fishery Supervisor to oversee aquaculture production, hatcheries, and sustainable fishing, focusing on maximizing yield while ensuring environmental compliance and financial profitability.
• Key duties include monitoring water quality, managing feeding regimes, supervising staff, marketing products, and enforcing regulatory standards to prevent fish stock decline.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

• Production & Operations: Planning breeding programs, calculating feed rations, grading, harvesting, and ensuring high-quality water standards.
• Fish Health Management: Monitoring, diagnosing, and treating fish diseases, while maintaining hygienic conditions to prevent losses.
• Farm Management & Administration: Overseeing budgets, reducing operational costs, maintaining financial records, and ensuring the facility meets industry regulations.
• Technical & Strategic Roles: Conducting research to improve aquaculture techniques, conducting stock assessments, and implementing technology for sustainable production.
• Staff Supervision: Recruiting, training, and managing personnel for feeding, cleaning, and maintenance tasks.

Requirements

• Education: A Degree (B.Sc.) / HND in Fisheries, Aquaculture, or related agricultural fields is required.
• Experience: Proven experience in managing fish farms, specifically with hatchery techniques, often ranging from 4+ years.
• Skills: Strong analytical, managerial, and communication skills, with specialized knowledge of local water management and fish species.
• Practical Experience: Internship experience or prior roles in hatchery settings.

Salary
N200,000 / Month.
