Job Title: Pre Nursery / Nursery Teacher

Locations: Rupokwu Rumahoglu Woji GRA & Sars Road, Port Harcourt - Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• A Pre-Nursery Teacher is responsible for caring for and educating children between the ages of 1½ to 3 years, focusing on their early development through play, basic learning activities, and emotional support.

Key Responsibilities
Child Care and Safety:

• Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all children.
• Supervise children at all times (classroom, playground, and rest areas).

Early Learning Activities:

• Introduce basic concepts such as colors, shapes, numbers, and alphabets.
• Use play-based learning methods like songs, storytelling, and games.

Emotional and Social Development:

• Help children develop social skills like sharing and cooperation.
• Provide comfort and support to children adjusting to school.

Classroom Management:

• Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly environment.
• Manage behavior gently and positively.

Hygiene and Routine Care:

• Assist children with feeding, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Maintain cleanliness of learning materials and classroom.

Observation and Assessment:

• Monitor children’s development and progress.
• Report any concerns to school management and parents.

Parent Communication:

• Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s progress and behavior.
• Provide guidance on child development when necessary.

Activity Planning:

• Plan daily routines and simple lesson activities.
• Prepare teaching aids and learning materials.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of NCE, OND, or Certificate in Early Childhood Education
• Experience working with young children is an added advantage
• Basic knowledge of child development.

• Strong communication skills
• Creativity and play-based teaching ability
• High level of cleanliness and organization
• Emotional intelligence and attentiveness.

Work Environment:

• Nursery or early childhood schools
• Requires physical activity (standing, bending, lifting children occasionally)

Salary
N50,000 - N150,000 monthly.
