Job Title: Legal Officer

Location: Maitama, Abuja

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a smart, detail-oriented, and proactive Legal Officer to support its legal and compliance functions within the oil and gas sector.
  • This is an entry-level opportunity ideal for a candidate looking to build a strong career in corporate and energy law. 
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing contracts, supporting legal documentation, and ensuring regulatory compliance across company operations. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and vet contracts, agreements, and legal documents Ensure all company operations comply with applicable laws and regulations Provide legal support to internal departments on business transactions
  • Assist in managing legal risks and advising on mitigation strategies Maintain proper documentation and filing of legal records Liaise with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies where required
  • Support dispute resolution and other legal processes when necessary. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) 
  • Must be called to the Nigerian Bar (BL) 2–3years post-call experience (NYSC experience acceptable)
  • Strong understanding of contract law and legal documentation Interest or exposure to the oil and gas sector is an advantage
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and research skills
  • High level of integrity and professionalism Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
