We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head of Accounts

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Description

  • Our Client, a fast growing fashion outfit requires the services of a Head of Accounts to manage and supervise the finance department and other branch accountants.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual).
  • Consolidate financial reports across all branches.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to support strategic decisions.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow plans.

Multi-Branch Oversight:

  • Supervise and coordinate accounting activities across all company branches.
  • Ensure uniform accounting policies and procedures are implemented company-wide.
  • Monitor branch-level financial performance and address discrepancies.
  • Conduct periodic financial reviews and audits of branch operations.

Accounts Operations Monitoring:

  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all financial transactions.
  • Strengthen internal controls to prevent fraud and financial mismanagement.
  • Implement and maintain efficient accounting systems and processes.

Financial Decision-Making:

  • Provide financial advice to senior management on investments, cost control, and expansion.
  • Evaluate financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support pricing strategies, cost optimization, and profitability improvement.
  • Participate in strategic planning and business expansion initiatives.

Statutory Compliance & Taxation:

  • Ensure full compliance with all statutory requirements (tax filings, VAT, PAYE, etc.).
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, and tax authorities.
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports within deadlines.
  • Stay updated on financial regulations and ensure company adherence.

Audit & Control:

  • Coordinate internal and external audits.
  • Ensure audit findings are addressed and corrective actions implemented.
  • Maintain strong internal control systems across all branches.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and mentor the accounting team across all locations.
  • Set performance targets and conduct regular evaluations.
  • Provide training to improve financial literacy and compliance awareness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
  • Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) preferred
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, with leadership role exposure
  • Experience managing multi-branch or multi-entity operations.

Salary
N200,000 - N350,000 monthly.
