The Population Council is an international, non-profit, non-governmental institution that seeks to improve the well-being and reproductive health of current and future generations around the world and help achieve a humane, equitable and sustainable balance between people and resources. The Councils major program areas are HIV&AIDS, reproductive health and poverty, gender, and youth. The Council conducts biomedical, social science and public health research and helps build research capacities in developing countries. The Population Council works in collaboration with a broad range of Nigerian institutions. Due to expansion of its activities.
 
The Council is seeking qualified individuals to fill the below positions:

Job Title: Clinical Assistant

Location:
Kaduna, Lagos

Job Description
  • The successful candidate will provide administrative and clerical support to the community-based clinic in an effective and efficient manner that will ensure that the clinic operations are maintained to high standards.
  • This position will also provide full support administrative to the Medical Officer.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English language/Secretarial studies, Administration or closely related field with at least 2 to4 years of relevant experience (with 1 + year of administration) or a satisfactory combination of education and relevant experience. NGO experience desirable.
  • Proficiency with office systems including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); a Knowledge of graphics is useful
  • Proficiency in written and oral English.
  • Excellent communications skills (e.g interpersonal, writing, presentation, negotiation)
  • Organized and results-orientated.
  • Ability to work in complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform.
  • Ability to work both independently and effectively with all levels of employees with minimal supervision, in addition to also functioning well as part of a team.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Bright, confident, personable personality
  • Flexible and mature approach with ability to work independently.
