Job Title: Payroll Officer

Location: Gujeni, Kaduna
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Officer with at least 6 years of experience in industrial sectors such as FMCG, Mining, or Manufacturing.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and supporting HR and Finance teams in delivering accurate and timely employee compensation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and process monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain payroll records, employee data, and time/attendance systems.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, pension schemes, and other statutory requirements.
  • Prepare payroll reports for management, finance, and audit purposes.
  • Handle employee queries related to salaries, deductions, and benefits.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to align payroll with company policies and budgets.
  • Manage payroll reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support audits and provide documentation as required.
  • Continuously improve payroll processes and systems for efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ payroll experience in industrial sectors (FMCG, Mining, Manufacturing, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems, labor laws, and statutory compliance.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage, or similar).
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
