Job Title: Head of Interiors
Location: Lagos Command Centre, Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time
Reporting to: The CEO
Contract Type: Full Time Annual (with 6 months initial probation)
Working Hours: 8am to 6pm, Monday – Friday. Flexible hours policy
Tools: Company car, new laptop.

Role Specification
- We are looking for an experienced Architect or Interior Designer to become the Head of Interiors.
- 3 - 5 years post qualification experience is required or this challenging, engaging and rewarding position.
- Reporting to the CEO in Lagos you will be expected to grow the market in your country.
- The ability to problem solve, use your own judgement, think creatively and work calmly under pressure are all essential skills to the role.
- Participation in monthly online Command Centre Meetings and policy formation in line with the Safritecture Business Model is expected.
- A current international passport with more than 1 year before expiry is mandatory as travel within Africa is expected.
Roles and Responsibilties
- Work with CEO to develop overall interior design vision for Safritecture
- Visit project sites to analyze space availability, and the feasibility of the project with reference to costs, quality and time frame.
- Attend client meetings to understand the client’s preferences.
- Prepare conceptual design ideas, 2D and 3D presentation materials.
- Participate in research, selection and specification of interior finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Oversee project timelines and budgets, ensuring adherence to all specifications.
- Coordinate with architects, builders, and other professionals to bring design concepts to life.
- Stay updated with industry trends and integrate new ideas into design practices.
- Review and approve interior design work by members of the team.
- Ensure alignment with client expectations and project goals.
- Edit and refine designs based on client feedback and project constraints.
- Work with the client’s technical teams to ensure smooth implementation of their requirements.
- Motivate and influence the interior design team for continuous improvements in creativity and productivity.
- Initiate team programs and activities designed to inspire the creativity within the team.
- Ability to travel for international coordination meetings, site inspections and product inspections.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or a related design field.
- Candidates with a Bachelor`s Degree in Architecture or Interior Design with exceptional skills may apply.
- Registration with a professional body is desirable.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in commercial interior design, and project management.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong understanding of interior construction processes and materials.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Project management certification is an advantage.
Skills Set:
- Having a good grasp of fundamental architectural design principles and their application to modern day Africa is a distinct advantage.
- Knowing the differences between Corinthian and Ionic capitals, Renaissance and Baroque architecture, Modernism and Post-Modernism, De-Stijl and Constructivism, Brutalist and Bio-climatic architecture indicates your appreciation of architectural history.
- The ability to hold discussions on and about interior finishes, spatial concepts, use of colour and textures, indoor or and outdoor spaces, light and shade, materials, soft and hard finishes.
- Have and indulge in non-architectural creative pursuits that inform and modulate your design process.
- The ability to maintain an intense level of professionalism while handling confidential information.
- Appreciation of clear and frequent communication to sub-ordinates and superiors.
- Being able to use of all functions of Project, AutoCAD and other CAD programs specifically for architects.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft 365 especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential.
