Job Title: Farm Veterinarian (Poultry)
Location: Abeokuta, Ogun
Job Summary
- We are seeking a competent and proactive Farm Veterinarian to oversee the health, welfare, and productivity of poultry operations.
- The ideal candidate will ensure optimal bird performance through proper disease prevention, treatment, and biosecurity management.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the health status of birds across all pens
- Develop and implement vaccination and medication schedules
- Diagnose and treat diseases promptly to reduce mortality
- Ensure strict biosecurity measures are maintained on the farm
- Supervise farm attendants on proper animal handling and hygiene practices
- Maintain accurate health and treatment records
- Advise management on best practices for improving bird performance and productivity
- Work closely with operations to ensure optimal feeding and environmental conditions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine or related fields
- 2 - 4 years experience in poultry or livestock management
- Strong knowledge of poultry diseases and farm biosecurity
- Ability to work independently and make quick, informed decisions
- High level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Must be proactive, reliable, and hands-on.
