Job Title: Associate (Full-Service Practice)

Location: Lagos

Role Overview

  • We are seeking a detail-driven, solutions-oriented Associate to join our full-service practice.
  • The ideal candidate is proactive, business-minded, and committed to delivering high-quality work that supports efficient client outcomes, reduces risk, and strengthens client confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research, draft opinions, and prepare high-quality legal documents.
  • Provide support on corporate/commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, dispute resolution, and general advisory matters.
  • Review contracts, policies, and operational documents with a focus on clarity, risk mitigation, and practical value.
  • Represent clients before regulatory bodies and in negotiations where required.
  • Manage case files, timelines, and deliverables efficiently.
  • Assist senior lawyers in strategy development, client management, and complex matters.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of relevant laws, industry trends, and regulatory developments.
  • Contribute to firm publications, client alerts, and knowledge-based projects.

Requirements
Education:

  • LL.B from a recognized university.
  • B.L from the Nigerian Law School (must be called to the Nigerian Bar).
  • Additional certifications in maritime, finance, tax,corporate law, or related areas are an added advantage.

Experience:

  • 1–3 years post-call experience in a reputable law firm or legal department.
  • Exposure to corporate practice, commercial transactions, intellectual property, or dispute resolution is preferred.
  • Experience managing client-facing tasks or deliverables will be an added advantage.

Required Skills:

  • Strong legal research and drafting abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to apply legal principles to business realities.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Professional discretion, judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with digital productivity tools and legal research platforms.
