Tincan Island Container Terminal Limited (TICT), established in 2004, is a multinational company operating in Nigeria with its Terminal located at Tin-can Island Port, Terminal B (2nd Gate), Apapa, Lagos and has its Head Office at 1/3 Point Road, Apapa, Lagos. After a very competitive bidding process, TICT emerged as the concessionaire of Terminal B, Tincan Island Port. Armed with a long-term lease agreement with the Federal Government of Nigeria, and an unwavering commitment to continued investment in Port development, we are poised to position ourselves as a key industry player within the African sub-region.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Operations Project Coordinator

Location: Apapa, Lagos
Employment Type: Contract

Roles and Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Implementation:

  • Coordinate operational aspects of projects affecting terminal operations, infrastructure, equipment deployment, or systems
  • Track project timelines, deliverables, and milestones to ensure timely execution
  • Support project planning, implementation, testing, and operational rollout
  • Ensure that operational requirements are clearly defined and integrated into project plans.

Operations Representation in Projects:

  • Act as the Operations Department’s lead representative on the full spectrum of projects with operational impact
  • Provide operational insights and recommendations during project design and implementation phases
  • Ensure projects align with operational workflows, safety requirements, and productivity goals
  • Represent operational interests during cross-functional project meetings.

Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Liaise with internal teams including Planning, Yard Operations, Ship-side Operations and other Departments
  • Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and consultants where projects involve operational components
  • Facilitate communication between project teams and operational units.

Process Improvement & Optimization:

  • Evaluate potential operational impact of proposed projects and initiatives
  • Identify risks to ongoing operations and propose mitigation measures
  • Support operational readiness for new infrastructure, equipment, or systems introduced through projects
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements through projects and initiatives
  • Support implementation of process optimization initiatives within terminal operations
  • Monitor post-project operational performance and recommend adjustments where necessary.

Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Maintain project documentation, action trackers, and status reports
  • Provide regular updates to Operations Management on project progress and operational implications
  • Track operational KPIs affected by project implementation
  • Support operational testing of new systems, equipment, or processes
  • Coordinate operational training and handover during project implementation
  • Ensure smooth transition from project implementation to operational integration.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform other operations-related coordination tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.

Minimum Educational Qualifications / Certifications / Years of Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in port/terminal operations, logistics, or operational project coordination.
  • Project management training or certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an advantage.

Skills and Competency Requirements:

  • Knowledge of project coordination and implementation processes
  • Ability to analyze operational workflows and identify improvement opportunities
  • Strong understanding of port/terminal operations
  • Proficiency in project tracking tools and operational reporting
  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving ability
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
