Reports To: Head of Finance / Accounts Manager
Job Summary
- Afripoint Group is seeking a competent and detail-oriented Accountant to manage financial records, support budgeting processes, and ensure full compliance with statutory and internal financial regulations across the Group and its subsidiaries.
- The ideal candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, payroll administration, cost control, and audit support, contributing to the organization’s financial stability and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Generate income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support management decisions
Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Assist in the preparation of group-wide budgets
- Monitor expenses against budgets and report variances
- Support cost optimization across departments and subsidiaries
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
- Track receivables and follow up on outstanding payments
- Maintain accurate ledger records
Payroll & Statutory Compliance:
- Support payroll preparation and ensure accuracy
- Implement and monitor PAYE and pension deductions (Nigeria compliant)
- Ensure timely remittance of statutory obligations (VAT, WHT, PAYE, Pension)
Bank & Account Reconciliation:
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain proper cash flow tracking
Audit & Internal Controls:
- Maintain proper documentation for audits
- Support internal and external audit processes
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies
Asset & Financial Records Management:
- Maintain asset register and depreciation schedules
- Track company assets across locations
- Ensure proper record keeping and filing systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage
Experience:
- Minimum of 2–5 years relevant accounting experience
- Experience working in a multi-entity or group structure is an advantage
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Good understanding of Nigerian tax laws and statutory requirements
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
