Job Title: Geography Teacher

Job Summary

  • Little Sprouts Schools Abuja is seeking to employ a qualified, experienced, and passionate High School Geography Teacher to join our academic team.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong subject mastery in Geography, proven experience preparing students for both national and international examinations, and the flexibility to teach related subjects when required.
  • The successful applicant must be committed to delivering high-quality lessons, maintaining excellent academic standards, and contributing positively to students’ overall learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Geography lessons in line with the school curriculum.
  • Teach and prepare students for Year 9 and Year 12 examination classes.
  • Prepare students for internal and external examinations including:
  • WAEC
  • NECO
  • Cambridge IGCSE
  • Checkpoint Assessments
  • Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessment materials.
  • Conduct practical and theoretical Geography lessons, including map reading and interpretation.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on students’ academic progress.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and create a positive learning environment.
  • Provide academic support and mentoring to students where necessary.
  • Participate in school meetings, training, and extracurricular activities.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in teaching other related subjects as assigned by management.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in Geography or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in a similar role.
  • Must possess valid TRCN Certification.
  • Strong knowledge of Geography and related subject areas.
  • Excellent understanding of map reading and interpretation.
  • Proven experience teaching and preparing students for:
  • WAEC
  • NECO
  • Cambridge IGCSE
  • Checkpoint
  • Demonstrated success in handling Year 9 and Year 12 examination classes.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and school management.
  • Strong passion for teaching and student development.
