Job Summary

  • The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food preparation, maintaining high-quality standards, and supporting the delivery of catering services.
  • The role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and coordinating with the events and operations teams to ensure timely and successful service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations Management:

  • Supervise daily kitchen activities, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Oversee food preparation and presentation to meet company and client standards.
  • Ensure timely production and delivery of meals for catering events.

Staff Supervision & Training:

  • Manage and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks and kitchen assistants.
  • Assign duties, monitor performance, and provide on-the-job training.
  • Ensure adherence to kitchen policies and procedures.

Food Quality & Safety Compliance:

  • Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Conduct routine checks to ensure proper food handling and storage.

Inventory & Cost Control:

  • Monitor stock levels and manage inventory of food supplies and kitchen materials.
  • Minimize waste and control food costs effectively.
  • Coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment of supplies.

Event Coordination:

  • Collaborate with the events team to understand client requirements and menu specifications.
  • Ensure all catering orders are prepared and delivered according to schedule.

Equipment & Maintenance:

  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
  • Report any faults or maintenance needs promptly.

Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Enforce safety standards within the kitchen environment.
  • Ensure staff use appropriate protective equipment and follow safety procedures.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a catering or hospitality kitchen.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Relevant culinary or hospitality certification is an added advantage.
