Job Title: Manager of the ECOWAS Peace Fund

Description of the Function
- Under the supervision of the Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, the holder of the post will lead the efforts to establish ECOWAS cooperation and resource mobilisation networks with the African Union and development partners.
- He/she will also coordinate and enable the development of projects, monitoring, evaluation and reports on external funding, in addition to supporting the work of the internal governance bodies of the ECOWAS Peace Fund.
Functions and Responsibilities
- Resource Mobilisation : Establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders (Member States, bilateral and multilateral partners) with a view to securing contributions, preparing funding proposals, conducting negotiations and ensuring that the commitments made (including the contribution of 5% of the Community Rate) are met.
- Fund Management : Oversee the reception, processing and reporting on funding requests for initiatives related to conflict prevention, peacebuilding, humanitarian assistance and peacekeeping operations. This includes:
- Processing and evaluation of applications for funding from ECOWAS departments.
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of approved initiatives.
- Ensure communication and visibility of initiatives.
- Preparation of detailed reports on resource use and implementation results for stakeholders.
- Project coordination : Manage and coordinate donor-funded programmes and projects in the field of peace and security, including administrative and financial management.
- Governance and accountability : Performing as a key member of the Technical and Approval Committee (TAC) and accountability to the Governing Board, responsible for overseeing the general guidance, priorities and audits of the Fund.
- Training: Support training activities and the development of national early warning systems.
Academic Qualifications and Experience
- Master`s Degree in areas such as Political Science, International Relations, Peace and Security Studies, Administration, Finance or related areas, obtained in a recognized university.
- 10 years of professional experience, including 2 years of relevant international work and 2 years in supervisory position.
- Significant professional experience, over 6 years, in fund management, project management, peace and security issues or related area, preferably in an international public organization.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning and management skills.
- Excellent skills in financial management, analysis and communication.
- Field of information and communication technologies (ICT).

- Ability to lead assigned programs and projects, providing the management and operational expertise, necessary for the fulfillment of the organization’s mandate (e.g., establishing networks and references).
