The Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) was established in the United Kingdom in 1997 and subsequently registered in Lagos, Nigeria in 1999 as an independent, not-for-profit, research, training, advocacy and capacity building organisation. The Centre was founded to mobilise global opinion and resources for democratic development and provide an independent space to reflect critically on the challenges posed to the democratization and development processes in the West Africa sub region. As the foremost think tank on democratization and development in West Africa, CDD provides alternatives and best practices in support of democracy and good governance in the region.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Program Manager

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Program Manager is responsible for driving our program strategy, securing funding, and ensuring effective delivery of our community-centered interventions across education, youth empowerment, orphanage and widow support, and community health.

Key Responsibilities
Program Strategy & Design:

  • Develop and implement program strategies aligned with CDD Foundation's mandate:education support, youth empowerment, orphanage and widow support, and community health outreach.

Grant Writing & Fundraising:

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with local and international donors.
  • Write compelling grant proposals, concept notes, and donor reports.

Program Implementation & Oversight:

  • Oversee end-to-end execution of funded programs across all focus areas.
  • Manage partnerships with community-based organizations, schools, orphanages, and volunteers.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Prepare high-quality narrative and financial donor reports demonstrating measurable impact.

Partnership Development:

  • Build strategic partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, corporate CSR departments, and international organizations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree is an advantage.
  • Experience: 5 - 8 yearsof progressive experience in the non-profit/social impact sector.
