Job Title: Retail Deposit Officer
Location: Ikeja, Orile, Ajah, Lagos Island, Tradefair, Oyingbo, Agege, Egbeda, Oshodi, Ikorodu, Mile 12, Alaba - Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Purpose
- To drive aggressive deposit mobilization, particularly low-cost deposits (CASA), from individuals, traders, associations, and SMEs, while building strong customer relationships and supporting the bank’s liquidity and growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Deposit Mobilization (Core Function):
- Source and mobilize deposits from retail customers, market clusters, SMEs, cooperatives, and associations
- Drive low-cost deposit growth (savings & current accounts)
- Achieve assigned monthly and quarterly deposit targets
- Maintain a strong pipeline of prospects through daily field activities
Field Marketing & Customer Acquisition:
- Conduct door-to-door marketing, market visits, and cluster engagements
- Identify new business opportunities within the local community
- Open new accounts in line with bank procedure
Cross-Selling of Bank Products:
- Promote other products such as:
- Microloans
- Target savings plans
- Fixed deposits
- Ensure customers are properly onboarded and educated on product
Reporting:
- Submit daily field activity reports
- Weekly and monthly deposit performance reports
- Track progress against targets
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Deposit mobilization value (monthly/quarterly)
- Number of new accounts opened
- CASA ratio (low-cost deposits)
- Deposit retention rate
- Number of active customers
- Cross-selling performance
- Compliance adherence (zero infractions)
Qualifications & Requirements
- HND/BSc in any relevant discipline with 3–4 years experience in microfinance or retail banking (deposit mobilization)
- Strong knowledge of local markets and customer segments
- Ability to meet aggressive sales targets
