We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Civil Engineer T&D (Substations)

Locations: Lagos and Akwa Ibom 
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Supervise civil construction works for high-voltage substations, including GIS halls, control rooms, relay buildings, transformer bays, cable trenches, duct banks, oil containment pits, drainage systems, and access roads.
• Oversee foundation design and construction for GIS switchgear, power transformers, reactors, CTs, PTs, lightning arresters, gantries, and support structures.
• Review civil/structural drawings, layouts, BOQs, and technical specifications for 33kV, 132kV, and 330kV substation projects.
• Ensure proper site grading, earthworks, retaining structures, fencing, and stormwater drainage within substation compounds.
• Coordinate closely with electrical, protection, OEM, and commissioning teams to align civil readiness with equipment installation schedules.
• Monitor structural integrity of heavy-load foundations for high-voltage equipment and ensure compliance with design tolerances.
• Verify compliance with utility standards, TCN/distribution company requirements, IEC, BS, ASTM, and project HSE regulations.
• Conduct inspections, resolve site civil issues, and ensure timely completion of civil milestones in line with project schedules.
• Supervise subcontractors and ensure QA/QC compliance for reinforced concrete, steel structures, and finishing works.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Civil Engineering.
• 7–10 years’ experience in high-voltage substation civil works, particularly 33kV, 132kV, and 330kV GIS/AIS projects.
• Strong expertise in transformer foundations, switchyard structures, GIS building construction, and cable trench systems.
• Knowledge of substation civil design codes and standards (IEC, BS, ASTM, IEEE, where applicable).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and civil engineering design/documentation tools.
• Experience in transmission utility or EPC power projects is highly preferred.
