Your Role

  • As Legal Counsel, you will act as a key advisor to the business, supporting legal operations and ensuring risks are effectively managed.

You will

  • Provide legal advice across a wide range of areas, including commercial, employment, regulatory, tax, and eCommerce matters
  • Support DHL Express operations primarily in Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Gambia, and Sierra Leone
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and commercial agreements with customers, suppliers, and partners
  • Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory developments, advising the business on potential impact
  • Support and manage litigation and claims, working closely with external counsel
  • Contribute to legal risk mitigation strategies and compliance initiatives
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure legal risks are identified and addressed proactively
  • Support cost-effective management of external legal spend.

What You Bring

  • 3 - 5 years of legal experience (law firm or in-house)
  • Solid foundation in commercial and corporate law
  • Strong interest in multi-jurisdictional legal work across Africa
  • Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English.
