We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Male / Female Cook
Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos
Summary
- A cook in a hotel is responsible for preparing meals, maintaining kitchen standards, and ensuring guests enjoy safe, high-quality food.
Responsibilites
Food Preparation:
They prepare ingredients by:
- Washing, cutting, and measuring
- Marinating and seasoning
- Following recipes or menu instructions
Cooking Meals: They cook and present dishes according to hotel standards, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and appearance.
- Menu Execution: They follow the hotel’s menu and may assist chefs in preparing a variety of local and international dishes.
- Maintaining Hygiene: They keep the kitchen clean and follow strict food safety and sanitation rules to prevent contamination.
- Portion Control: They ensure the right quantity of food is served to avoid waste and control costs.
- Stock Monitoring: They check ingredients and inform management when supplies are low or need restocking.
- Equipment Handling: They properly use and maintain kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, knives, and mixers.
- Assisting the Chef: They support the head chef or kitchen supervisor in daily kitchen operations.
- Time Management: They prepare meals quickly and efficiently, especially during busy hours.
- Following Safety Standards: They follow safety procedures to avoid accidents like burns, cuts, or fires.
