Sitrid, an acronym for Steps In The Right Direction, is a 21st century based Nursery, Primary and Secondary School which opened a little over 10 years ago. It caters for children between the ages of 3 months - 16 years (Daycare to SS3 ). It is a highly technology based school with dedicated teachers and staff. SIS is located on the South- West of Port Harcourt (50-56 Rumuevorlu Mini Orlu Road off Ada George Way, Port Harcourt) on a beautiful 8 plots of land. It provides an atmosphere conducive for focused learning. It has a spacious athletic field and secured car park that makes the school a gorgeous and efficient educational learning environment. Sitrid International School is owned by Mrs. George-Izunwa and managed by Mrs. Ken- Nkwonta and a Team of professional educators and staff. we believe that every child counts and our pupils must be able to draw from the understanding of concepts and relate same to different domains of their experiences. We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: ICT & Surveillance Systems Officer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Role Overview

• We are seeking a highly intelligent, discreet, and proactive professional to manage and oversee all technology-driven security and communication systems within the school. This role is critical to ensuring the safety, connectivity, and seamless internal communication of our learning environment.
• The ideal candidate must demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, technical competence, and promptness in identifying and reporting issues.

Key Responsibilities (Job Description)

• Monitor, manage, and maintain all CCTV surveillance systems across the school premises
• Ensure optimal performance and uptime of the school’s Wi-Fi and internet infrastructure
• Oversee the functionality and maintenance of the intercom communication system
• Conduct routine checks and preventive maintenance of all systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical faults swiftly and efficiently
• Maintain logs and reports of system performance, incidents, and resolutions
• Promptly escalate and report security or system breaches to management
• Ensure secure handling and storage of surveillance data
• Support upgrades, installations, and system improvements
• Liaise with external vendors and service providers when necessary

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• System Uptime: Maintain at least 95–99% uptime across CCTV, Wi-Fi, and intercom systems
• Response Time: Attend to and resolve technical issues within defined timeframes
• Incident Reporting: Timely and accurate reporting of all faults, breaches, or anomalies
• Preventive Maintenance Compliance: Completion of scheduled maintenance checks
• Network Performance: Stable and efficient internet connectivity with minimal downtime
• Data Security: Zero breaches due to negligence or poor system handling
• User Satisfaction: Positive feedback from staff on system reliability and responsiveness

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in ICT, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 2–3 years experience in network administration, CCTV systems, or IT support
• Strong understanding of networking (routers, access points, bandwidth management)
• Experience with surveillance systems and security technology
• High level of analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Demonstrated integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
• Excellent reporting and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and respond quickly to emergencies
