We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Basketball Presenter
Location: VGC, Lagos
Employment Type: Freelance / Contract (On-site)
Work Schedule: 2–3 days per week (primarily weekends)
Role Overview
- We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Basketball Presenter to deliver engaging, insightful and entertaining basketball related content.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for sport, excellent on camera presence and the ability to connect with a diverse audience.
- This is a freelance role requiring availability mainly on weekends with occasional weekday appearances based on programming needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Present and host basketball related shows, segments or live coverage
- Provide analysis, commentary and insights on games, players and trends
- Conduct interviews with players, coaches and guests when required
- Collaborate with production and content teams to plan show segments
- Stay up to date with local and international basketball leagues and news
- Participate in pre-show briefings, rehearsals and post-show reviews
- Engage audiences both on-air and across digital/social media platforms.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a presenter, host or sports broadcaster (basketball preferred)
- Strong knowledge of basketball (local leagues and international leagues.)
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills
- Confident on-camera presence and ability to think on your feet
- Good research and analytical skills
- Ability to work flexible hours especially weekends
- Professional attitude and ability to meet tight production timelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in media, communications, journalism or a related field
- Experience in sports analysis or commentary
- Familiarity with Nigerian and international basketball scene is a strong advantage.
